Learn to Row

PRC is thrilled to invite you to discover the exciting world of rowing in our supportive, inclusive, and safe environment. Our Learn to Row sessions are designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the sport, catering to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.

Adult learn to Row

The PRC Masters program invites you to participate in a uniquely tailored Learn to Row weekend!

Over two weekend days (8-10:30 each day), our Learn to Row sessions will introduce you to adult rowing on Lake Merced within the community, commitment, and culture of PRC. Each mornings Pacific’s coaching staff will provide appropriately paced rowing and fitness instruction to prepare you to walk on to our Novice squad.

Only $100!

The fee includes weekend instruction and a follow-on two-week trial after the weekend of instruction.

Saturday will focus on the land basics such as a proper warm up, video review, body sequencing, introduction to boats and oars, and how to safely get in and out of the water. Sunday will apply all these basics with an on-the water session where everyone will have a chance to row. There will be weekday afternoon sessions available for those who want to continue to hone their skills before joining or have more evening flexibility than morning.

Summer Camps

Registration will open Spring 2026

Learn to Row

No prior experience is required for this initial week. The program is open to both genders.

Participants will be instructed in the proper handling of equipment, fundamental rowing techniques, training with rowing machines (ergometers/ergs), and will be introduced to various aspects of on-water rowing.

Each day, we will allocate time on both land and water, providing campers with a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of rowing.

Intermediate Level

Participants are required to have successfully finished one week of the Learn to Row program or its equivalent in another program prior to the commencement of this programming.

Throughout the duration of the camp, the majority of our activities will take place on the water, focusing on refining advanced rowing techniques and enhancing boat maneuvering skills.

The primary objective of this program is to elevate participants' rowing proficiency and instill a passion for rowing as a sport. We place a strong emphasis on teamwork, introduce additional rowing fitness concepts, and cultivate an environment where each camper can enhance their rowing abilities.

Feel free to attend this camp multiple times to further refine your skills.
