Summer camps
We are offering 4 Summer Camp options in 2027, designed to create a space for all of the San Francisco Bay Area’s youth, 7th- 12th grade, of all skill levels. All of our camps are hosted at the Lake Merced boathouse in San Francisco at 1 Harding Road.
Learn to Row: Middle School
Our Middle School Learn to Row program introduces young athletes to rowing through a fun, supportive, and hands-on experience. Athletes learn the fundamentals of sculling, boat handling, boat safety, fitness, and teamwork while building confidence on the water. Sessions include technique-focused rowing, games, and basic land fitness training.
This camp is ideal for athletes trying rowing for the first time or who want a low-pressure introduction to the sport.

Rising 7th and 8th graders welcome
Learn to Row: high school
This camp introduces high school athletes to both sculling and sweep rowing. Athletes learn the fundamentals of sculling, sweep rowing, boat handling, boat safety, fitness, and teamwork while building confidence on the water. Sessions include technique-focused rowing, games, and basic land fitness training. Each session includes time on the water, basic conditioning, and fun skill challenges.
Perfect for high school athletes interested in rowing competitively or joining PRC’s novice squad in the future.

Rising 9th - 12th graders welcome
Continuing skills
Continuing Skills is designed as a continuation in education from week one of Learn to Row.
Designed for athletes who have completed at least one week of Learn to Row Summer Camp and want to continue developing technique, confidence, and fitness. Rowers will strengthen their fundamentals in both sculling and sweep, row longer distances, and gain more independence with boat handling and teamwork.
This is the ideal next step before joining PRC’s year-round novice teams.
Prerequisite for enrollment: One week of Learn to Row Middle School or High School camp.
Rising 7th - 12th graders welcome
Performance
The Performance Camp is for athletes with at least novice-level experience who want structured training to prepare for the upcoming competitive season. The focus is on technique refinement, fitness development, boat speed, and more advanced sculling/sweep skills. This camp offers the opportunity to break down technical aspects of your stroke to make fundamental improvements.
Perfect for any rower looking to improve their skills and talents for the upcoming racing season.
Prerequisite for enrollment: Minimum 1 year of rowing experience
camp Schedule
Our camps run Monday through Friday. We do not offer prorated dues for missed days.
The camp schedule will be announced in January 2027.
Coaching & Leadership Opportunities
Current youth program athletes are encouraged to volunteer at Summer Camps.
Alumni and other experienced coaches seeking a coaching position should apply online.
